Tapi saya tau orang dah kerja banyak je yang kata they wish they are still student.

Ok sekarang cuma berharap cepat lah habis belajar kat sini. Sejuk oii kalau pasang heater nanti bil letrik mahal plakkkk

Just a brief update to inform my existence. I'm very much alive but I'm just...stressing out a lot. Like seriously a lot. Tomorrow's oral is like the determinant whether I can move on to next level or not. But this is the 3rd time I'm revising the same thing within a month. Bukanlah nak kata everything is in my head already, banyak je terlupa, just that....it gets really boring going through the same thing over again. This time around I didn't really put my heart in revising despite the importance of the exam :-S

Tomorrow @ 10am it is.

I've got tonnes of things to be done after that. Returning the library books. Filling the holiday application form - one from school one for JPA. Get some stuff from the post office. Go to city to buy some stuffs. Kemas rumah kemas bilik kemas beg segala. Phewwwhhh...

As told in previous post, this is such a looooooong week. Prior to the Oral exam next week, we've to prepare everything that we've been doing throughout the academic year to be presented for the Oral. So I've been busy completing and gathering the teeth, radiographs, labwork and whatnots and it is such a booooooring routine I tell ya. I've been around at school at minimum of 6 hours each day since last Monday and this is soooooooo tiring!

On top of that I have practical exam coming up this Friday. Whenever possible, I will be in the prosthetic lab practicing for the exam. Jussst now during lunchtime (yeah, I was in the lab during lunchtime!) our supervisor told us which arrangement is to be done for the exam but I still haven't practiced that well enough. After spending about 2 hrs in the lab I decided to leave before I started to get fed up with all this tedious work.

After I left the hospital, I was so determined to get this handbook which might be useful for my oral at the bookshop in UCC. Took the bus and went to main campus and since the book is cheaper than I expected, I decided to treat myself for lunch at Istanbul Kebab. hahaha tahpapetah kan. I think I need to reward myself a bit for surviving this 3 painful weeks and still remain sane :P

I walked to the city. Went to USIT to get my flight ticket. Went to Istanbul for lunch. Stopped by at Vero Moda for a while and took bus home. Went online for a while. Had my afternoon nap. Had dinner and now am trying to revise for the oral.

The biggest reward is waiting for me.....in next 5 days! Ho yeahhh let's do this baby...let's finish thisssss!

17 stations, 2 rests, 5 minute each

1. Cross infection control section - 10 minutes station, setting up chair, which waste goes to which bin, how to clean down the unit, hand washing technique

2. Types of ICP impression? Silicon mousse, beauty wax, modelling wax? Impression plaster - why do we use the Snow White plaster when we mount the cast.

3. L/A - Types of syringe used for anaesthesia of upper incisor. Types of L/A (choose either Lignocaine or Scandonest) for people with alcohol liver cirrhosis, pregnant woman, people with heart disease (I couldn't remember what exactly was the disease) and people with emphysema.

4. Breaking bad news - extraction of upper left lateral incisor after root canal treatment

5. Rapid relaxation - topical anaesthesia and local anaesthesia administration

6. Types of denture cleanser for denture made out of PMMA, PMMA with soft acrylic liner and something2 with alloy. To choose from brush and soap, toothpaste, sodium perborate, hydrochloric acid and something something

7. Identify tooth,one molar one premolar. comment on adequacy of caries removal. To comment on the use of amalgam or resin composite based on the cavity preparation. To comment on how to retain the resin composite for the tooth.

8. Material used for restoration (amalgam and resin composite) Composition, advantages and disadvantages, health issue.

9. Identify the problem with denture - polished away buccal surfaces, sharpness, etc

10. Identify the problem with the full denture on the articulator - unbalanced articulation, alignment not centred etc

11. Behavioural Sc (2 stations) - features of Down Syndrome, symptoms of depression, number of units of alcohol for men, light, moderate, heavy, Anorexia Nervosa - definition, causes, health inequalities, personality disorder bla bla bla banyak lagi tak ingat.

12. Picture of ANUG - to give oral hygiene instruction. The instructor was a bit mean! Mouthwash, brush teeth, at least twice a day, proper technique, toothpaste, interdental toothbrush

13. Gracey curette - name the instrument, design features and the working angle

14. Charting - A LOT OF charting to be done. Amalgam restoration at almost 70% of the tooth with recurrent caries, missing teeth. SUMPAH TAKDE MASA.

OSCE Trivia -

• times flies really fast. 17 stations felt like 2 seconds oni!
• behavioural science stations are a bit cruel. she threw in 5-6 questions in a station to be answered in 5 minutes. gile ke apeeee
• master your cross infection. lol. the basic is always the killer

Free stress ball was distributed outside the exam hall today. hehe...took one just in case I need something to relieve my stress to.

Paper starts 2pm sharp. The questions? Hmm...here and there it's predictable but never thought that major topics like CVS and NSAIDs and those from ANS and CNS weren't there. Like seriouslyyyy I predicted at least NSAID question will be asked. Ada mmg ada but it was on DMARDs. A small topic which has like 4-5 slides out of our 40++ note slides. Like whaaaat?

Anyway a few of the questions I predicted was out la. Local anaesthetics. Antimicrobial. I didn't expect they will recycle last year's Diabetes Mellitus/hypohyperthyroidism but luckily I've tried the questions before.

Last week I emailed the lecturer in charge for marking our paper regarding question on oral toxicity. She replied my email on Saturday with quite detailed explanations on how to outline the answers and all and guess whattt....There was actually question on oral toxicity T___T Tapi I find it quite hard even after she explained how to answer the question in detail. Because it involved many classes of drug so I just don't wanna get myself confused :-S

However eventhough the questions are quite okay, I think the time is too short X( 3 questions to be answered in 90 mins. I spent the first 15 mins to draft my answer. I need to do that because towards the end I'll be very nervous and couldn't think straight. So I had like 25 mins to answer each questions which is soooo not enough. Tangan nak lenguh-lenguh lagi. Nak kena pause cari ayat lagi. Wuwuwuuwuw....I hope I presented my answers well. Ya Allah, lembutkanlah hati pemeriksa saya and murahkan lah hati dia bagi saya markah banyak-banyak...

Balik-balik bile fikir balik everything, I don't know...it's quite scary. Did I answer good enough? How far should I explain about the drugs and all? How long should I write?wuwuwuwu..tak tenang until I pour water on my tissue roll instead of my mug T____T

Anyway I still have to work on my next paper - Patho. God knows how long I haven't been in touch with the notes. I hope I'll manage to do well in those papers.

Tapi tatau lah summer exam this time around takde feel sangat pun. Like..you can't feel the excitement at all. Dah abis satu paper pun takde rasa lega ke apa. Maybe because I know after this exams I'm still not done yet. Still got practicals & the exams, clinics, oral and OSCE. Done with the summer exams only means I'm done with 60% of my 3rd year. Still got long way to go :-( Unlike before, after exams dah takde apape exam lagi dah. Even better during first year after exams dah bleh terus balik rumah dah.

Yesterday I looked at my summer ticket and almost cried looking at the date. Still long way to go. Still many things to be done. And yet, my strength & energy is so close to being empty already.

Adik-adik, if you think you wanna study oversea, think again. If you think you wanna take dentistry because it looks easy, think again and again. What you see, ain't really what you have to go through.

Because during exams I love to crap, and I love to let the pictures do the talking

Written only eh. I've still got one OSCE and one compulsory oral, one OTL and one Pros lab practical exam to go...

Wuwuwuwww...tangan saya lenguh malas nak pikir tajuk apa (sejak bile berfikir guna tangan?)

Halllowwww all! I'm back from exam! Hoooohh...one down, lots more to go. So how did the day went today?

I was up quite early today. Bangun, dapat text good luck from mak. Study. Breakfast. By 8 or so dah start nervous lampau. Left home at 8.30.

Sampai dental school, lepak2 jap luar. Checked RPD result. Nasib pass. hohoh..Check my clinical requirements. Suprisingly they put down I've done 3 restorations already. But my perio requirement is still incorrect. I've treated 4 gingivitis cases with 1 returning patient for maintenance kot! Eh eh eh..bebebelathaah kang! Dia letak 1 je. Sssokay I'll get those sorted out later. Tapi wooohooo kalau dah 3 restorations means I'm done with the requirements dah lah. HEH.

Exam started at 9. I took the first half an hour to draft all the answers. Freaking 30 minutes weh. Supposedly I'll have like 30 minutes lah to answer each question after spending first 30 mins for drafting my answer. But oh my I was wrong. It took me 45 minutes to write down the law answers alone. Gila time tu jari nak terpatah dah.

I used totally all full 3 hours to produce my answers. After 2 hours my fingers started to scream in pain already. Siap kena urut-urut As always tiap kali exam mesti akan ada 1 question that will kill me. Last time pasal Facebow. This time around pasal scientific evidence for the role of sugar in dental caries plak. Die lah die I didn't pay attention to that topic at all okay. My answers were written purely from what I remembered from the lectures memang sah-sahlah macam harrreeeemmmmm kan. Haishk..

I don't know what to expect from this exam. I think it went so-so. The last time I thought it was okay. But I sucked big time. This time I can only hope for the best :-S But I'm glad I emailed my Ethics and Law lecturer beforehand on how to answer the question. I also clarified one of the question with my lecturer during the exam today and that was like the wisest move I've ever made because apparently what I thought and what the question required was totally different! Ya Allah, terima kasih sebab bukakan hati saya nak bertanya kat Prof MC tadi..

Anyhooo am done with one major exam. Ada a few more to go. I don't feel relieved at all knowing that I've still got lots to be done. Moreover I've started my classes already. So basically my Monday evening, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and the whole day Friday has been occupied already. Pulak tu this Wednesday we had a replacement class so I'm gonna be at school for one whole day. Bila dah lama cuti kena pegi kelas mesti badan jadi manja. Balik-balik kelas nak berehat-rehat lagi. Haishkkk...Mampukah inniii...Mampukah saya study inni...

Oh anyway my pros's lab instructor, Mr JH has just lost his son 2 weeks ago. I think today was his first day of working kot looking at the amount of people came to see him just now. I was so sad to look at him. He was quite a chatterbox before. Ada je benda nak di joke around everytime he makes a demo ke apa. But today before class he spoke to us that he's having kinda hard time now. He apologized in advance if he doesn't show much affection ke apa and I nearly teared up ok tadi. Sekarang dah lah memang tengah fragile asyik nak nangisss je kerja. Plus he was totally different today. Selama ni dia relax2 kerja minum kopi gi borak2 but today he kept himself busy. Coffee break pun dia stay kat lab buat kerja sana sini ok. Tskk...sedihlah saya macam ni :'(

Baiklah. Imma need to shower and sort out things now. Tataulah larat ke tak nak start study malam ni because honestly I am out of energy already. Gile tangan lenguh gile neh tahuu??? Tahap kosentrasi sekarang memang lagi kurang daripada kosentrasi seekor ikan siakap. Apa tahap kosentrasi dia pun saya tak tau tapi ikan siakap sekarang jadi idaman saya sebab teringin nak makan steam siakap takpun 3 rasa.


Bila peperiksaan menjelang mulalah segala perasaan sedih malang nak menyerang. Time ni nak rindu rumah. Time ni nak rindu karoke. Time ni nak tengok semua gambar lama mengimbau kenangan silam. Time ni rasa nak balik sekolah.

Man...I hate exams. Dahlah ada kemungkinan exam ditunda sebab workers union mungkin nak strike this Thursday. Nak tunda buat jelah lepas krismas tapi Irish semua taknak sebab diorang taknak study over the Christmas break. Lepastu harini 3 kali air tumpah atas meja and notes saya. Kalau orang tengok notes saya ada kertas mengerengkot effect air mengering mesti orang ingat rumahs aya kena banjir.
