Pulau Langkawi - A mission, accomplished!

Pergi-pergi kami naik Bas Shamisha dua tingkat.

We took Shamisha bus from Shah Alam bus station. It was a 2 storey bus and we were all very excited since this is our first time travelling with this kind of bus :)
Kami mengambil feri jam 8 pagi.

After 8.5 hours bus ride, we finally arrived at Kuala Perlis and took the earliest ferry to Langkawi.
Ini "kereta sewa" kami, Sang Wira

This is our "rented car", Proton Wira

Kami menginap di Motel Greenhill View di kawasan Pantai Chenang. Duduk di Pantai Chenang, segalanya jadi senang!

We stayed at Greenhill View Motel, Pantai Chenang

Kami menaiki Kereta Kabel. Sungguh mengerikan. Tapi terpaksa naik. Mereka paksa. Kalau tak duduk dalam kereta panas.

Despite the fear for any rides that involve heights, I finally succumbed to the peer pressure and took the cable car ride up to the mountain!

There were altogether 2 stations of which you can stop to enjoy the breathtaking view.

We are three happy girls

Keesokan harinya, kami pergi lompat-lompat pulau.

The next day, we went for Island Hopping at Lake of Pregnant Maiden, feeding eagle and swam at Pulau Beras Basah

Fokus kepada keindahan Pulau Beras Basah. Abaikan dugong yang sedang timbul itu.

Swimming at Pulau Beras Basah is a golden chance not to be missed. Mesmerizing view with beautiful sand and green sea water.

The rest of the activities include shopping for chocolates at Town of Kuah (duty free shops), wandering around Dataran Land and taking a stroll enjoying the night life at Chenang Beach.

The beach in front of our motel.

We took the 12.30pm bus from Kuala Perlis and reached Shah Alam at approx 10.30pm. Yes freaking, 10 hour journey.

Trivia Langkawi :

  • Accomodation : RM65 per nite for a room with double bed. Ya, kami bersempit-sempit tidur baru mesreeee...so that's RM130 for 2 nights
  • Transport to Langkawi : Since this was kinda last minute decision (we planned A WEEK BEFORE!), we had to settle for the most reasonable transport - BUS! It costed RM50 per journey (so that's RM100 for a return ticket) from Shah Alam to Kuala Perlis.
  • Island hopping : I think the range of price is between RM25-55, depending on the agents. Our price was RM35 per pax. There were 3 stops. One at Lake of Pregnant Maiden (tasik dayang bunting), Two in the middle of nowhere, where eagles are a lot and you get to see them nearer. Just sitting on the boat enjoying the eagles (?) Third - Pulau Beras Basah - superbbbbbbbbbbb nice! nice! nice! Wear appropriate attire so you could enjoy the clean water (and be prepared to get tannnedddd - or darrkkkk in my case)
  • Cable car : If you hold a Malaysian Identification Card (MyKad), you are entitled for a discounted price of RM15. Where else normal price is RM30.
  • Ferry ride : Costed RM18 for adult per journey. About 1.5 hour if you took from Kuala Perlis (and nearly 2-3 hours if I'm not mistaken, from Kuala Kedah)
  • Rented car : We were very fortunate to have a contact in Langkawi so we didn't pay for this :D Thank You tuan haji Azmi! But there are a lot of people doing Car Rental business that the moment you stepped Langkawi, you will be bugged by them! Seriously! Lowest price I heard was RM30 per day.
  • Food : Being in Malaysia, that's not a problem at all. What do you want? Western? Indian? Thai? Malaysian? Chinese? Just name it! Spent around RM15 per day for food, depends on what you had. A ready to serve food or cook-on-the-spot food!
  • The last time I went to Langkawi was almost 7 years ago. Ever since that, I could see Langkawi had changed so much to cater more people from outside Malaysia. Irish Pubs, spas, boutiques, luxury dining places are the new features of Langkawi that I noticed.
  • So altogether, each of us spent around RM300 for all food, accomodation, island hopping, cable car, return transport. So that's a real budget holiday y'all! Destinasi Bajet, sila ambil perhatian! gagaga...

Percutian terakhir sebelum pulang ke Malaysia

Alright here it is..my Stockholm so-called travelogue wtf. I'm gonna do this in one go since there isn't really much to talk about. really. huhu..

Okay first of all (tengah ada mood siap buat intro lagi tatahann), Stockholm terletak di negara Sweden, salah sebuah negara European Union. It is located in northern Europe and it is one of the Scandinavian countries (besides Norway..urm apa tah lagi). They have their own currency which is called Swedish Krona (SEK).

We stayed at Fridhemsplan YHA (a hostel). Booked a room of 4 and paid 45eu for 3 days. Not too bad huh? Selesa. Toilet and shower outside the room lah tapinye. Ada wifi. ada tv cum computer with internet connection in the room. Ada computer with internet connection in the big kitchen.

Bought 3 days Tube ticket which costed us 200SEK. A bit pricey I guess?

The first stop was Gamla Stan (the old city) to watch changing guards session. My friends made research about Swedish dan mereka kata org Sweden adalah handsome, chanteque dan sopan jadi kami adalah sedikit excited untuk mengesahkan kebenarannya. Tapi sayang, adalah agak sedikit bahaya kerana banyak dari mereka menyukai kaum sejenis (SFX bunyi hati pecah)

changing guards. mission 1 accomplished.
handsome kah? not really. haha! too boyish for my liking. jambu sangat gwe ngak brapa soka ya..gagaga...oh we watched this in the rain! yes! sangat tabah innit?

Next stop to Choklad Koffee (if i'm not mistaken) for lunch. I'm not sure the proper explanation behind this cafe but what I know they are run by people that are not straight (as in sexual orientation, not physical la) Food was quite nice but too bad I don't enjoy cheese that much jadi tidak dapat memberikan opinion lebih lanjut...

Next stop we walked around the city. As always lah beautiful buildings yada yada..bosann..hahaha..like I've said before. Typical European attractions = beautiful buildings. The differences are only from the architecture sahaja...

theater

Last stop - Hard Rock Cafe Stockholm. A few minutes walk from Odenplan tube.

Second day we called it the transport day. gaga..We took the guided Archipelago ferry tour. Costed us 210SEK. It took about 3 hours for a return journey. We can get off at Voxholm and take another ferry for return but we decided to stay on the ferry since we are bunches of lazybumps malas mahu bergerak2 =D

before departure.

had herring with crisp bread for my lunch

can accomodate up to 80,000 people. uuuuu...

Tivoli theme park. lalu sahaja, malas masuk! gaga..

After the ferry tour, we took the old tram berjalan2 melihat pemandangan di sekitar itu.

We then moved on with souvenir hunting session at Drottnigattan. We got this tips from the internet to buy souvenirs here rather than at the Gamla Stan area because they are cheaper. Biasalah Gamla Stan kan main tourist spot so they usually mark up the price a lil bit.

The last day we checked out from the hostel and went to Gamla Stan again sebab teringin nak makan Waffle. gagaga...The weather was super nice that day so we decided to unleash our camwhore potential to the max. =D

captured by an old man who doesn't know how to operate a digicam. lepas tangkap gambar ni dia cepat2 blah. haha..sian dia..anyway still a nice job innit?

Stockholm trip trivia :
  • by far the least euros spent during a holiday trip. because the things here are quite pricey so I don't have mood to spend too much. the short duration might be one of the factor too
  • accidentally ordered a ham sandwich! gagaga...ada lah a few of us terlepas benda itu masuk ke dalam sistem. huhu...language barrier. the guy didn't understand what we said eventhough we clearly pointed out at the menu that we wanted a salmon sandwich!

Stockholm Syndrome

Hello all =)
I´m at Stockholm now. Quite a small place. In one day we can cover almost half of it already.

The things here are quite pricey.
It was a rainy day today. So we had to call it a day earlier since all of us are soaking wet already. The hostel is nice. Free internet in our room. Single bed. For a price of 45eu per pax for 3 days...it wasn´t too bad lah I guess.

Sebenarnya ni turun bawah nak cari specs saya hilang. Tetiba termelencong gi online plak. Internet dalam bilik orang berebut nak pakai..susah lah! hehe...

specs oh specs..mana awak pergi???
